Friends of the Hernández

The Friends of the Rafael Hernández School (FOH) is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit branch of the Hernández School. Its Board of Directors consists of parents, school administration, and community partners. Friends of the Hernández is responsible for the After School program, our expanded “Art, Cultura e Identidad” art program, and building community partnerships with various organizations in and around Boston.

The mission of the Friends of the Hernández (FOH) is to support Rafael Hernández Two-Way Bilingual School students’ academic, extracurricular, and social-emotional development in and out of school time. Our objectives are to provide high quality, low cost after school programming, raise and mobilize resources to advance students’ academic and extracurricular success and reinforce the Hernández School’s mission of fostering bicultural, bilingual and bi-literate identities of students.
